Vox Nova Subscription Agreement

April 1, 2011
by

Purpose:  The proliferation of free media has challenged our ability to continue to provide premium content to the general public.  Through subscriptions we will have an additional revenue stream to aid in continuing to provide new, relevant, provocative, engaging and verdant content.

Description: This agreement binds you, hereafter subscriber, under penalty of civil forfeiture.  The agreement puts into effect the relationship between the subscriber and Vox Nova.  Vox Nova is a premium content provider, content being writing, audio, and video, not withstanding rights held by others which are reserved to them. Comments provided to Vox Nova are the property of Vox Nova.

Terms: Subscriptions commence on the 3rd day of the month and terminate on the 2nd day of the month. Subscriber is the given the right to view all content and offer comments during the subscription period. Subscriptions are billed retroactively. The subscriber is responsible for maintaining accurate records of their use of Vox Nova. Upon request, subscriber will provide said records to be audited by Vox Nova or their designate. Payment terms are net 15 days from end of term. Late payments will be subject to a fee of $35. Returned payments will be assessed a fee of $35 in addition to any and all other applicable fees. Subscription price is $15 and subject to change with 3 day notice.

Dispute Resolution: Subscriber agrees to binding arbitration by the Vatican. Disputed
payments are to be held by Vox Nova for a period of up to 60 months or such time as the
Vatican rules, whichever is greater. In other words, disputed payments will be held until the Vatican rules upon the claim. A holding fee not to exceed 2% per month will be assessed during the period of dispute.

Rights to Preview:  People are allowed to preview up to three Vox Nova posts during a single subscription period.  After that, they become a subscriber under penalty of breach.  At Vox Nova’s discretion, we will allow people to continue to preview content without subscribing under linking provisions as set forth by Vox Nova.   Such previewing will count towards the limits set forth but in no case will previewing be denied under the linking provisions.  Presently, readers of Commonweal are covered under linking provisions and readers of National Catholic Reporter are covered under linking provisions for up to two posts per daily cycle.

Enforcement Mechanism:  Subscribers are under the honor system, in an effort to reduce costs of the program.  If there is continued and sustained violation of the honor system, we will have to adopt software controls.

Warranty and Recourse:  Under no circumstances does Vox Nova provide a warranty, explicit or implied, for causes inclusive but not limited to merchantability, safety, legal, or financial, severally or corporately.  Vox Nova reserves the rights to alter, change, add, or delete provisions to this agreement with or without notice at its sole discretion.  Use constitutes consent to those provisions.

Thank you for your cooperation in this new venture.  Our sincerest gratitude is offered to you our readers — Vox Nova

P.S. Rest assured that no subscription dollars will ever be used to feed birds.

“Rest assured that no subscription dollars will ever be used to feed birds.”

Uncharitable. Fr Z’s bird feeder web cam solicitations are clearly and directly requested as donations for support of the birds.

Geez. I puzzled over this for a good 10 minutes (while doing other things) before I realized what day it was. : )

Save the joke on Fr. Z.’s bird feeding (Really? You couldn’t have taken a stab at Michael Voris instead?) That was a good April Fools Joke. Mind you I’d seriously sign up and PAY a subscription to Vox if it ever occured, mainly to see Brett and Kelly’s postings. Really for a rate like say $10-20 for 3 months, $25-45 for 6 months, $40-60 per year would be worth it.

I made it part way through a Voris video once. Just not my cup of tea, particularly the medium, video. That impeded my ability to tease him.
