What church is he talking about that disagrees with the preferential option for the poor?
This clip is a bit too short, and lops off much of the power in Bono’s righteous anger: “True religion will not let us fall asleep in the comfort of our freedom…” He isn’t accusing any churches of disagreeing with the preferential option for the poor. He’s pissed off — as we should also be, or perhaps ashamed — that so many among us who claim to be good Christians can’t be bothered to be passionate in compassion for the poor.
