It seems like Coptic Christians in Egypt got a great boost of moral support — from the local Muslim population. In what is an extraordinary gesture, the kind which is rare to find in a world of strife, thousands of Muslims went to Egyptian Churches for Christmas, offering themselves as “human shields” in order to keep the Christians secure from attack. Read more about it here. H/T: Brian Saint-Paul.

Apparently “they” do not feel they are at war with “us.” Can we echo that feeling?
Just wonderful and for me personally, one of the most wonderful things I can remember of any news item ever.
God bless them, every one.
This is unquestionably a noble and courageous act on the part of each one of these Muslims. God bless them, and thanks for linking to it.

Well, the news story describes how “thousands” of Muslims went to Coptic churches to shield their Christian fellow-Egyptians from attack. There are a number of cases in which one may see “thousands” of Americans acting on behalf of Muslims — both here and abroad. If this proves that “they” are not at war with “us”, then clearly the other proves that “we” are not at war with “them”. (And, indeed, this is true. We’re not.)
Or, on the other hand, perhaps it underscores the silliness of trying to discern mass movements of hate or good will from the reports of individual actions in a far away place we honestly know little about.
