John Michael Talbot – Peace Prayer of St. Francis
October 4, 2010
I did not make this video, but I thought it did such a good job in bringing out the message of St Francis that I wanted to share it with others for his feast. Pax et bonum!

Off-topic, but: in case anyone is wondering, no, there is no relation.
Thank you. However, I am obliged to point out that St. Francis had nothing to do with the “Peace Prayer of St. Francis.” Modern scholarship traces it back no further to the late 19th or early 20th century, and it was only in the 20th century that it became associated with St. Francis.
Here is a prayer from the authentic writings of Francis that is my personal favorite and that I pray frequently:
“We adore you, O Christ, here and in your churches throughout the world, because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.”
David, it’s been some time since I went through his writings, found in the Three Volume collection of his writings and early biographies, so I forgot that this was not in there. Still, I think it fits his spirit.
