Worth a thousand words

Fetus_thumb

I had never seen this image before, but apparently it’s quite well-known. It shows an unborn child gripping a surgeon’s finger during a prenatal procedure to treat spina bifida. The Archdiocese of Washington’s Catholic Standard has the background story (hat tip to Deacon Greg Kandra). If you have a minute, read it. It is photos and stories like this that remind me why I am pro-life, and why I firmly believe that in the end, humanity will see the truth about abortion.

A blessed weekend to all of our readers!

  1. Great post, mickey. Thank you.

  2. David Nickol says:

Why is the photographer more credible than the
    doctor
whose hands we see in the photo?

Some opponents of abortion have claimed that the baby reached through the womb and grabbed the doctor’s hand.

Not true, [Dr. Joseph] Bruner says.

Samuel and his mother, Julie, were under anesthesia and could not move.

“The baby did not reach out,” Bruner says. “The baby was anesthetized. The baby was not aware of what was going on.”
