Mirror in the Mirror

Arvo Part is a contemporary Estonian composer whose works blend a deep Christian spirituality with his own version of minimalism.

Try out this popular piece, achingly beautiful in its sparseness.

    The simplicity is rather nice…

Beautiful. Thank you. I have enjoyed Arvo Part’s work for several years now. This may sound a bit strange but his music takes me to a place of deep inner silence.

    Mike,

I do not think that is strange at all. I have a very similar experience with all of his work.

On a side note, this piece was used as the main theme of the soundtrack of the film adaptation of the wonderful play Wit, starring Emma Thompson, If anyone wants to see a moving film, rent that immediately.

Anything with Emma Thompson is something I want to see.
