The Prisoner is one of my favorite shows of all time. There are many classic lines already re-done here, though it seems with an extra Matrix vibe. Hopefully, it will be good. Hopefully, it will turn out to be a sequel.
To bad we won’t see Patrick, Leo or Angelo… unless they did something creative, I guess. We shall see.

This looks really good. Someone who knows that I am a big fan of ‘Lost’ recommended the original series to me and I watched it over the Christmas holidays. AMC has done really well with ‘Mad Men’ and ‘Breaking Bad’, and this looks like it could be a big hit too. I liked the original until it got to the last three episodes (which I thought were really awful). The 2 part conclusion was just incomprehensible.
I’m hoping that the new series will be less episodic than the original and take advantage of the current vogue for serialized storylines. Given that ‘Lost’ is about to end, this could take its place for many fans.
The ending of the Prisoner is classic; not only does it go beyond expectations, it plays with them, mocks them, and leads someone (who is capable of following) into the greater picture. It really is something which needs to be watched a few times to appreciate. It got everyone mad when it was first shown; people want easy answers, but McGoohan knows that is not how things go.
