Song for the Economic Crisis
February 7, 2009
Christy Moore is regarded as Ireland’s leading folk singer. His recording of the song “Ordinary Man” resonated in the Ireland of the mid-1980s, with its deep economic depression. As I listened to it again for the first time in many years, I realized that it resonates anew today, especially as the “ordinary man” pays the price for Wall Street greed. Anyway, have a listen to the song. For those not familiar with Christy– it’s worth the effort!
