Communion ecclesiology
September 5, 2008
Things get pretty heated around here at Vox Nova, especially during that holy part of the liturgical year called Election Time. And with all of the divisive behavior, the name calling, the mutual condemnations, we as Catholics need something that we can all agree on, something that will unify us once again as one Body.
And I propose that something is the new Facebook. Can’t we all agree, as Catholics, that it’s awful?

I could not disagree more. I’ve reconnected with childhood friends through Facebook.
Probably the only time I will ever agree with you, Michael.
Oh misread. The NEW Facebook. I’m on board with that one.
I LOVE IT!!!
(not really)
… this is your evident liberal bias coming through, crystal-clear, Michael, making irrational and inflammatory statements once again.
;-)
You sound almost … conservative, Michael, in your appreciation for the OLD. ;-)
But yes, I resent the fact that they will inevitably compel us to embrace, like it or not, that abomination.
I am with you MI. It’s dreadful. Just dreadful.
I am truly thankful that we can find common ground on this important topic. :)
You need to join the “I Hate The New Facebook (www.new.facebook.com)” group.

Over 240,000 strong!
haha, mikey, you have a gift for uniting the masses.
I *hate* it. So, yay! for unity.
On this, we are agreed.
I CAN’T STAND IT
Iafrate, you fishing for more friend requests or something? 8′)
It is a terrible, dreadful invention that ought to be censured. Facebook’s “compel them to come in” approach to this upgrade is unnerving.
I *like* the new facebook, but then I’m a Canadian just trying to go with the flow.
What’s Facebook? ;0
I’d love to see all of us at the sign of peace before Communion!
The “emergence” of the New Facebook is accurately summed by the cliche: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

I’m going to create a group: “Catholics against the NEW facebook”
I don’t know how, but CST has to say something about the new FB layout :)
Just started on the site a few weeks ago. What’s the major change?

Hahahahahah!

I’m pretty sure CST doesn’t say anything about bad web design. If so, the Catholic blogosphere would be incredibly more attractive than it is — Oh, WAIT. The Catholic blogosphere ignores CST anyway, doesn’t it?

FB is about to switch over to a new design which you can preview by clicking some link on the top of each page. Prepare to be dazzled….
The Catholic blogosphere does not ignore CST; it just desires that the federal, state and local govenment has nothing to do with it, based on–you know– the principle of all CST principles: subsidiarity. ;)
