Clinton will acknowledge Obama has enough delegates to win nomination

June 3, 2008

Tonight in New York.

UPDATE: Apparently, this “rumor” is not true and has been denied by her campaign’s chairman as “100 percent incorrect.”

Further proof that this country is sexist.

As much as I dislike her, I think Obama should pick up as VP. Whatever else, she has proven that she has lots of support. It reminds me of Kennedy picking Johnson– two completely different people with different temperaments who did not really like each other– but who needed each other.

She and her husband have disgraced themselves and his legacy by pulling the “race card” in this campaign over and over again. I know this particularly well, being originally from South Carolina (to the extent I’m from anyplace in America), and I and tens of thousands of other supporters of Obama will NOT continue to support him so enthusiastically, if he picks someone who, like her, does NOT represent a clean break with the mistakes of the Democratic Party of the past. The “New Democrat” agenda (which did NOT include compromise with reasonable conservatives) must be put onto the dustbin. Let Senator Clinton steer health care reform through Congress: that’s enough, by far, of a role for her. Women can be placated by Obama’s pick of Sebelius; “crackers” (like me–it’s not mean pejoratively) may be placated by his pick of Webb or Warner. However, choosing Clinton would send the wrong signal to all the youth and independents Obama has been attracting–and with whose support he can handily beat McCain.

“COMMENTS OFF” for the Card. George v. Pflger piece above. What are the producers of this blogsite afraid of?

As much as I loath Obama’s stand on abortion, he’s so much more presidential than HRC. I’m joyful HRC is almost out of the race–4 years of her grating mid-western drone would have been like purgatory.

Women can be placated by Obama’s pick of Sebelius

That’ll complete the abortion ticket for sure — at least Sebelius will cement the “pro choice Catholic” vote.
