“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.”

These are graces exemplified here.

An examplar of martyrdom is the first martyr. He was killed for his Faith by those who hated the Faith. He expressed Hope that he would be saved and he, asking the Lord not to hold this against them, expressly forgave his executioners. Hope, Faith and Love!
