Now that I think about it, it could be worse. For a second there, I thought John McCain was going to start singing that “My Humps” song.

Padre – I love the part about how he is the “ultimate American.” American civil religion at its finest.

Wait, the American civil religion is wrestling? That explains so much!

Haha! Well, to be honest, I believe there are some real connections….

    Words fail you?

How about this one– prothonotary. Its the only response that does the clip justice.

I think that McCain emerged the best out of this disaster.

Sorry, bro. The BG references are lost on me. I had to do a goggle search to figure out just what in the heck you were referencing.

Ah, now things are back to normal. ;)

    Morning’s Minion,

It’s funny you should mention Col. Tigh.

Funny and cringe-inducing at the same time.

I think it was Rowland Evans who remarked the only normal fellow who was president he ever knew was Ford, and that those who do what it takes to become president have at least one aspect of a deep strangeness.

“I think it was Rowland Evans who remarked the only normal fellow who was president he ever knew was Ford”

And Ford, it should be noted, was never elected.

Doomed! When this electioneering has stooped to this level, we are all doomed!

I suppose the sliver lining in this is that in at least in a democracy it is the leaders who have to pander to the populace rather than visa versa. Still, the whole thing doesn’t fill me with warm fuzzies, to say the least.
