Happy All Saints’ Day

November 1, 2007

Do not forget to honor all of our fabulous saints today.  It is a Holy Day of Obligation.  I know for myself, the Saints have been crucial in my continued conversion and for keeping me in the Church during trying times.  I love them.

In honor of our Eastern Catholics, I have posted the image of  Saint John Chrysostom

Just a small little point — the Eastern tradition celebrates All Saints on the Sunday after Pentecost. But I hope the Westerners are having a great feast, and more importantly, St John Chrysostom can always enjoy more of them :)

I just came back from Mass, where the priest asked us meditate on the examples set by people like St. Francis, St. Peter Claver, St. Paul Miki, Dorothy Day, and Cesar Chavez. I love All Saints’ Day!

Henry, I thought that was so. I could not remember and I was too lazy to go pick up my Byzantine Book of Prayers. I know we are on different Liturgical calendars. Still, I was thinking of you when I posted the fabulous saint.
